Quick answers
The questions our support team hears most
Will installing an eSIM erase my current number?
No. An eSIM profile is added as a separate data line alongside your existing SIM. Your primary number keeps working for calls and SMS, and you can remove the travel plan at any time from your phone settings without affecting it.
Can I install the eSIM before I leave home?
Yes, and we recommend it. Most plans start their validity only when the eSIM first connects to a supported network abroad, so installing early costs you nothing. Each product page states whether the timer begins at install or at first use.
What happens when my data allowance runs out?
The connection stops rather than generating extra charges, because every plan is prepaid and capped. You can buy a top-up from the link in your delivery email, and nothing is charged automatically to your PayPal account.
Why is my QR code not scanning?
Usually the phone is not on Wi-Fi or mobile data, or the screen is very dim. Try increasing brightness, scanning from a second screen, or using the manual activation code included in the same email. If it still fails, contact us with your order reference.
Do I need to enable roaming on the eSIM?
For most travel eSIMs, yes, data roaming must be switched on for the eSIM line specifically. This does not trigger home-carrier roaming charges, because the plan runs on the local partner network you paid for.
How do I know which network my phone connects to?
Your phone selects the strongest supported partner network automatically. The destination page lists the carriers behind each plan, and you can switch to manual network selection in settings if coverage is better on a partner.
Can I use tethering or a hotspot with a SimpleConnect plan?
Most plans allow personal hotspot use within the data allowance, but a few destinations restrict it. The product page states whether tethering is included before you pay, so check there if sharing data is essential for your trip.
What should I do if my plan will not work at all?
Run the activation checklist first, then contact us through the contact form with your order reference, device model, and location. If the fault is on our side we replace the profile or refund you, as set out in our Refund Policy.
Still stuck on setup or compatibility?
Send us your phone model and destination through the contact form. A real person checks compatibility before you buy and walks you through activation if something misbehaves, usually within one business day.
